New Year's Eve festivities around Tampa Bay

There are events and celebrations going on all over the Tampa Bay area to ring in the New Year, from daytime activities for kids and families, to celebrations for 21 and up. Click the links to the events below.


The 12th annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Celebration, Channelside

Time: 7pm - 1am

This is Tampa's largest New Year's Eve celebration - and it's free!  The evening begins with live music in the courtyard at Channelside Bay Plaza and ends with a bang! Don't miss the nation's only floating ball drop over the channel featuring a crowd led 10 second countdown at the stroke of midnight. The ball drop emulates the famous Times Square ball drop. The celebration routinely attracts 10,000 - 15,000 revelers to ring in the New Year!

Sail Pavilion Annual New Year's Eve Luau
Food truck luau party starting at 7pm. No cover, at Riverwalk in downtown Tampa. There will be 8 food trucks for all taste buds. Live entertainment (with DJ), drink specials, craft beers and more!

Yacht StarShip New Year's Eve Fireworks Cruise

Boards: 10 PM, Cruises: 10:30 PM
Say "Bon Voyage" to 2013 on a Yacht StarShip Fireworks Celebration Cruise! This dazzling event includes open bar, gourmet food stations, a DJ, party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, and a great view of the fireworks at Channelside!

Aqua Eve at the Florida Aquarium

Celebrate New Year's Eve with a splash at The Florida Aquarium's Aqua-Eve! Enjoy fantastic live music, complimentary food, beer and wine along with a champagne toast and the best view in town for an amazing fireworks display at midnight. The Florida Aquarium's Aqua-Eve party is the premiere New Years Eve party in Tampa to ring in 2014! Tickets: $110 through Dec 31; Aquarium Members: $85 through December 25th (Members, please call 813-273-4030 to purchase tickets.) Doors open at 9 p.m.

Outback Bowl New Year's Eve Parade

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. along 7th Ave.

The historic Ybor City's annual Outback Bowl Parade and Pep Rally featuring floats, college cheerleaders and more than 20 marching bands. Family-friendly and FREE. Sponsored by Tampa General Hospital and the City of Tampa.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tampa

Karina Smirnoff, professional dancer on ABC's Dancing with the  Stars, hosts Seminole Hard Rock Tampa's "Pop the Cork" New Year's Eve party. Advance tickets: $85, Day of: $95  Package includes four drink tickets, appetizers, champagne toast and free admission into West Coast Toast after 1 a.m. Doors open at 9 p.m.

New Year's Eve at Busch Gardens

Celebrate 2014 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay including fireworks at midnight, rides, and DJs pumping party music throughout the park. Admission to party included with park ticket.

Hogan's Beach New Year's Masquerade

Includes hors d'oeuvres, pasta, sushi and dessert stations, champagne toast at midnight and fireworks. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets: $40

Downton Abbey New Year's Eve Party

1920's-inspired attire encouraged at this party thrown by WEDU and the Straz Center which includes a Downton Abbey inspired menu and champagne toast at midnight, plus an advanced screening of Downton Abbey on Masterpiece season 4 premiere. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets:  $160 per person.

Hyde Park Village Rooftop Eve

Benefiting the Ryan Nece Foundation, the Rooftop Eve takes place ont he top level of the parking garage overlooking Hyde Park Village. Complimentary drinks, wine, beer, & champagne with desserts and live entertainment. Tickets: $150 through Dec. 29th, $175 after Dec. 29th. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Pinellas County

Shephard's Beach Resort Countdown to 2014

Balloon drop, champagne toast, and party favors and fireworks on Clearwater Beach. Tickets: $30 pre-sale until Dec. 30, $35 on NYE, 21 and up only. Doors open at 8 p.m. Location: 619 S. Gulfview Blvd. Click for more info.

The Mahaffey Theatre

"Hot New Year's Eve" celebration with HOT 101.5. DJs, LED screens, & midnight toast on the St. Petersburg waterfront. Tickets: $25-$75. Doors open at 9 a.m.

Light It Up Clearwater
Midnight fireworks on Clearwater Beach! Open to the public, FREE.

Safety Harbor Resort and Spa: Awesome 80's Prom

Complimentary welcome cocktail & dinner buffet. Prom party features the Martha Quinn Band, midnight champagne toast, party favors and live TV ball drop from New York City. Dress up and get voted as Prom King and Queen! $99 per person includes buffet, general admission tickets: $30.

B.B. King at the Capitol Theatre

Ring in the new year with bluesman B.B. King with the first New Year's Eve concert at the 93-year-old Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater. Tickets: $150, starts at 9 p.m.

Hernando County

New Year's Eve at the Palace Grand

Ring in the new year with Tommy Mara and the Crests. Live entertainment, D.J., hors d'oeuvres,

buffet dinner, champagne toast and party favors with the ball drop on the big screen, all followed by a continental breakfast.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Cost: $79.95 per ticket.

Pasco County

Marvelous Marvin's 2013 Rockin' New Year's Eve

Show Palace Dinner Theater, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Live music by SPF 40. Dinner buffet and champagne toast at midnight. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $59.95.

Citrus County

New Year's Eve Ball

Citrus Springs Community Center, 1570 W. Citrus Spring Blvd. Citrus Springs, FL. Formal dinner, cash bar, live music. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets: $35.

Sarasota County

New Year's Eve Downtown Sarasota

A fun, family-friendly event from 2 p.m. - 1 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Sarasota. Live music, children's rides, midway games and the Pineapple Drop at midnight.

Marina Jack II New Year's Eve Celebration Cruise

Four-hour cruise featuring live band, party favors and champagne toast at midnight. Includes buffet and dessert. Tickets: $149, boarding begins at 8 p.m.

New Year's Eve Block Party

Ritz Carlton Sarasota. Toast goodbye to 2013 to live music and dancing. Tickets $55, doors open at 8 p.m.


Universal Citywalks's New Year's Eve Celebration

Party zones include their own entertainment and signature drinks, access to six different clubs, live music and gourmet cuisine, includes a dance floor built just for the event in front of the CityWalk Plaza Stage.  Tickets: $99.99 before Dec. 21, $119 after Dec. 21.

Disney's Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot

Ring in the new year at any of the parks at Walt Disney World. Events included with park admission. Note: park hopping not recommended. Arrive to your park of choice early. Once the parks reach capacity, no further admittance will be allowed.

For the Kids

Noon Year's Eve at Lowry Park Zoo

The annual "Noon" Year's Eve daytime celebration hosted by the Zoo and Radio Disney AM 1380. Games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, educational displays and more. Families can ring in the New Year with noisemakers, hats and a juice toast as they watch the clock strike 12 NOON. Activities are included with Zoo admission. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Noon Year's Eve at Great Explorations

Ring in the Noon Year with Great Explorations Children's Museum. Fun family-friendly activities, create collages, party hats, and underwater fireworks. Balloon and bubble drop with apple juice toast at noon. Doors open at 10 a.m.

LEGOLAND Kid's New Year's Eve

Party at Kid Standard Time (7 p.m.) with a giant LEGO brick drop. Includes fireworks and dance party.

First Night St. Petersburg

Ring in the new year with music, lights, dance, fire, bubbles, stories and fireworks. The 21st Annual New Year's Eve celebration starts at 4 p.m. Tickets: $10 adults, $5 for kids 6-12, 5 and under FREE.

Glazer Children's Museum, Noon Year's Eve

Starting at noon, families will celebrate the New Year at the top of every hour with balloon drops, party hats and noisemakers. Party included with general admission. 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Sarasota's Main Street New Year's Eve Celebration (See above)
