A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to lift off from Cape Canaveral Friday at 7:01 p.m., carrying six compact spacecraft and a fleet of Orbcomm satellites. The original launch time of 6:08 was delayed for just under an hour.
The Falcon 9 rocket launch originally scheduled for May was scrubbed initially because of a helium leak.
This flight is the first of two launches that will carry 17 Orbcomm satellites into space via SpaceX rocket. The satellites will allow customers to remotely track, monitor and control transportation and logistical assets, heavy equipment, oil and gas infrastructure, ships and buoys.
About 70-million dollars in assets are launching into space during Friday's launch by Orbcomm, a New Jersey-based company.
The launch window for Friday's launch is 53 minutes. Meteorologists are predicting a 30 percent chance of rain.
