Super Bowl date could change due to weather

NEW YORK - How does Super Bowl "Monday" sound to you? Super Bowl "Friday," perhaps? It would be a football first, but another major storm in the northeast is threatening to disrupt the big game.

This year, there's a chance that the bad weather could make the game unplayable in the open air stadium of East Rutherford, New Jersey on Super Bowl Sunday, so the NFL is making contingency plans.

The league says it has a plan in place that could move the game up to Friday or slide it back to Monday.

The Super Bowl is the biggest sports event on TV. This will be the first outdoor cold Super Bowl in the NFL's history.

Officials will be giving out free hats, ear muffs, gloves, scarves, and handwarmers to entice the fans to come out to the game.
