12/12/12: Babies, weddings on a day to remember

TAMPA - Triple 12's are on the mind as plenty of people across the nation are capitalizing on the date, whether it's intentional or unintentional.

For Jennifer Ducharme, her celebration was a bit of an accident as her daughter was born weeks early!

"I woke up, it was just supposed to be another doctor's appointment," she says.  "Went in, had high blood pressure and they said we don't want to see you for 6 weeks.   You are going to have a baby today!"

Little 6 lb, 4 oz Scarlett Katherine was supposed to be born December 21, but she had other plans.  Switch those digits around, be born on 12-12-12 and get on TV in the process!

Elsewhere in the Tampa Bay area Wednesday, couples like Melissa Barinson and David Zuckerman used the date to show how much they love each other.  Meeting on Match.com, they say just a few dates in, they knew they were meant for each other.

"Our third date he took me to Bali," says Melissa.  "Yea I took her to Indonesia."

But the first to tie the knot on 12-12-12 at the Hillsborough County Courthouse were newlyweds Mario and Nery Lopez.

"There's never going to be a 13/13/13, obviously," says Mario.  "12/12/12, she chose it because its a special day."

Friends for more than 30 years, these two say it wasn't that big of a deal to wait until this unforgettable date.

"All those years we never gave each other a second look," explains Nery.  "But then it just happened, we knew right there."
