MYAKKA CITY, Fla. - A motorcyclist was airlifted from a crash that shut down State Road 64 near Myakka City on Sunday afternoon.
According to Manatee County Fire-Rescue, the motorcyclist sustained traumatic injures in the crash near South Duette Road around 3:35 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Harley Ultra Glide driven by Stephen W. Buron, 45, Myakka City, tried to pass a vehicle that was turning into a driveway.
The FHP report stated Buron tried to go to the inside shoulder of the vehicle and hit the vehicle on its right side.
The vehicle ran into a mailbox. The two people inside the vehicle were not injured.
Buron was ejected. He was flown to Blake Hospital in serious condition.
Charges are pending the ongoing investigation.
