BRADENTON, FL -- The names of 2 men killed in a drive-by shooting late Friday were released Sunday night.

They were identified as Irwin Figuero and Rubin Gonzalez Garduno, both 18 years old.

A woman called 911 after hearing gunshots just after 9:20 pm. When deputies arrived at 1116 59th Avenue Dr. East them lying in the road. One was pronounced dead at the scene, another was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Witnesses said Figuero and Garduno were walking along 59th Avenue when they were approached by a vehicle, possibly a blue Mercury Grand Marquis.

As the car approached the victims, someone from inside the car opened fire, and both victims were shot, detectives said.

Manatee Sheriff's spokesman Randy Warren said the shooting appears to be gang-related.
