PLANT CITY, FL -- A Plant City High School student is the latest confirmed case of tuberculosis in Hillsborough County, health officials announced today.

Department of Health spokesman Steve Huard said the student is home, in isolation, and is expected to be OK.

Letters were sent home to parents explaining the situation.  About 300 staff and students are being recommended for testing, including seven classes and all the lunch room personnel, school district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said.

TB tests will be given at the school at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday

Armwood High School had the last confirmed case in Hillsborough County, in August of this year.
