LARGO, FL -- Pinellas County deputies are investigating a possible murder-suicide in the unincorporated area of Largo.

Officers responded to a report of a suicidal person at a home at 7983 Shadow Run Drive around 6:00 Monday morning. When they arrived, 46-year-old Sherry Hice was heard inside the house saying she had been seriously injured.

Deputies forced their way into the home and, in addition to Hice, found the bodies of three people in various rooms, according to sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Jim Bordner.

They are identified as 57-year-old Michael Roberts, 21-year-old Tyler James Newman, and 16-year-old Taylor Reiterman, Hice's son.

Applications for restraining orders indicate Sherry Hice feared that Roberts would shoot her and her son.

The two restraining orders were denied four days ago after Hice could not prove that Roberts pulled a gun on her on March 18.

Attorneys for Roberts said his demeanor was calm and he seemed more than willing to cooperate with police to turn over his weapons.

Roberts had a permit for several weapons.

A mixed breed dog was also found dead inside the home.

Neighbors told ABC Action News reporter James Zambroski that the owner of the home was renting rooms to help make ends meet.  They said the home was the scene of a disturbance a week ago.

At that time, police and fire rescue responded after a woman was seen screaming outside the residence.

One neighbor said she and her husband heard several loud pops late Sunday night, but thought it was a car backfiring and did not report anything.

Sgt. Jim Bordner said Hice had suffered at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to Bayfront Medical Center by helicopter. Bordner said, "It's safe to say she was a victim."
