TAMPA, FL – Sara Trail is a young California teenager who is inspiring both young and old with her intricate and colorful fashion creations. Sara started sewing early in life and now at the tender age of fourteen she produces masterful quilts and other creations.
Sara was thirteen when she landed her first book contract. By the time Sara turned fourteen she was a published author. Today you can find her book, “Sew with Sara” and a companion DVD for sale at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Both are aimed at inspiring kids to pick up a needle and thread and create.
Sara regularly teaches workshops and classes to people of all ages. In Tampa her stunning quilts won her a standing ovation from a crowd of 30,000 who were in town for a church convention.
The teenager traces her quilting talent back to her great, great grandmother, Margaret Smart. She immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia in the mid 1800's and wound up being sold into slavery. Smart made quilts from scraps and cotton from her slave master's fields.
