Tampa woman arrested trying to bring gun on plane

TAMPA, FL -- A Tampa woman trying to fly to Illinois, ended up in the Hillsborough County Jail. Jessica Campbell was arrested at a security checkpoint of Tampa International Airport after an x-ray machine showed a .22 caliber handgun in her purse.

Airport Police Chief Paul Sireci tells ABC Action News.com Campbell was attempting to board a flight to Chicago when the gun was discovered. Sireci describes the gun as a cheap derringer.

Campbell was booked into the Orient Road Jail on $2,000 bond.
