Tampa woman accused of child abuse

TAMPA, FL -- A Tampa woman was arrested Wednesday morning for child abuse, after teachers at the victim's school called the state's child abuse hotline, Tampa police said.

Julbette Clerveau was arrested Wednesday morning. She is a relative of the victim. Clerveau was booked into the Orient Road Jail.

According to police, the seven-year-old victim had welts on her arm and knee consistent with marks from a belt buckle. When questioned by police the victim told them she was, "punished for getting in grown folks' business."
