TAMPA, FL -- Three 17-year-olds knocked on a woman's door East Jean Street but got no answer.  Thinking no one was home Tampa Police say they made a return trip and tried to break in Friday.  The victim heard the noise created by the break in and she checked it out using her crutches.  She surprised the teen bandits who fled with keys to her van which also had her wheelchair inside.

The '97 Chrysler van was spotted in the Sulpher Springs neighborhood by police a short time later. It was stopped with the 17-year-old suspects inside. Police recovered the victim's specialized wheel chair tossed in a dumpster and returned it to her.

Three suspects are identified as Maurice Ladrell Benjamin, Keion Deandre Brookin and Damien Maurice Tyson.  Tyson and Benjamin faces burglary charges in addition to the grand theft auto charges they all face.
