TAMPA, FL -- A man arrested for driving drunk had 6 kids in his car when he was pulled over, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office

Lt. Dan Tewmey pulled over 23-year old Carlos Rodriguez on Dale Mabry Highway south of Valley Ranch Drive just after 11 pm Tuesday night.

His 1991 Chevrolet didn't have any tail lights, according to Tewmey.

The Sheriff's Office says Rodriguez had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, had blood shot eyes and slurred speech.

When he was pulled over his girlfriend and 6 children from her family were also in the car, deputies said. Their ages ranged from 7 years old to 14.

Rodriguez failed his field sobriety test and was arrested and transported to the Orient Road Jail.

He is charged with DUI, 6 counts of child neglect and not having a valid driver's license.
