VENICE, FL -- The day after two masked gunmen stormed the TJ Maxx in Venice, and tied up several people before getting away, people are talking about the fact that the two unidentified men are still on the loose.

Stephanie Cook was outside of the store as the hostages trickled out of the store.

"How could they not catch them? There's only two ways in and out of TJ Maxx," she asked.

That sentiment was echoed throughout Venice, but police were not answering any questions about how the men escaped from a building that was surrounded by law enforcement.

In a police report, one of the first lieutenants on the scene wrote, "I learned from the manager that there existed a rear receiving entrance, which could be utilized as a potential escape route.  I immediately dispatched deputies to cover the described area."

There is no way to know if the back entrance was the gunmen's escape route, but it was just that for two female employees who got away and called 911.
