HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- Hillsborough County jail officials say they are offering masks and bacterial gel to their employees after two confirmed cases of swine flu at the Orient Road jail.
They also say no more cases will be tested by the Health Department but they will isolate inmates who come down with respiratory symptoms from the rest of the general population.
Officials say they've had 20-to-30 inmates in quarantine on any given day to prevent the spread of swine flu. They are asking inmates coming into the booking lobby to wear a mask if they show signs of the disease.
So far, only two staff members have been sick with swine flu but officials do not believe they got it at the jail.
