Suspect rams FHP cruiser during chase

PASCO COUNTY, FL -- A man is in custody after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a chase and hitting a cruiser.

According to the FHP, 36-year-old Reginald Howard would not stop when a trooper tried to pull him over for speeding.

During the pursuit, Howard hit an FHP cruiser on Dale Mabry in Hillsborough County, then lead troopers to Pasco County.

The chase continued to Bruce B Downs, then to State Road 54 and onto Curley Road, finally ending at Howard's house on Birdhouse Dr. in Wesley Chapel.

According to crews at the scene, Howard's probation officer was at the house when he arrived with FHP behind him.

Howard is a habitual offender and does not have a valid license. He has been arrested multiple times for driving with a revoked or suspended license, as well as grand theft and possession of cocaine, among other charges.
