ORANGE COUNTY, FL -- The State wants Casey Anthony, who's accused of killing her daughter, to be tried on check fraud charges before her October murder trial.
Prosecutors filed a motion on Tuesday requesting that her fraud trial take place within the next two months.
The charges include the fraudulent use of personal identification, forgery of a check and uttering a forged check.
Investigators say video (see the video here and here) released by the state attorney's office shows Casey Anthony purchasing items with stolen checks.
They say the purchases were made at a Winter Park Target store. Casey is seen purchasing clothing and white sunglasses. She's also seen buying a blue hoodie she wore when she was first arrested.
Another video, this one from a Bank of America camera, shows Casey cashing a $250 check.
The checks allegedly were stolen from a friend of Casey's, Amy Huizenga, who told investigators she had let Casey borrow her car. The checks were missing from the car's glove compartment when she returned from vacation. She said she subsequently discovered her bank account had been drained.
Deputies say a total of five checks, totalling hundreds of dollars, bore what appeared to be Casey's name and signature.
The checks were written just shortly before Casey was arrested last year in connection with her missing daugther Caylee Anthony (photos).
Caylee's remain were found near her home in December. Casey (photos) is charged with first degree murder. She claims the 2-year-old was taken by a babysitter.
Casey's lawyers believe her murder trial could be delayed until next year.
