ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue responded are investigating a fire that may have been intentionally set.

The fire was located at 2500 9th Av. S. at the Source of Life Community Development Center.

Upon arrival fire units found a two story masonry building with heavy smoke and fire showing from the second story windows.

Fire crews had to force their way in for a fast attack on the fire, as the building was primarily vacant. Crews were able to contain the fire to the second floor of the building with minimal water damage to the first floor.

St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue fire investigators are on scene and have determined that the fire was intentionally set. The fire is classified  as arson and under investigation.

The fair market value of the home is 114,000 dollars and damage estimates are at approximately 30,000 dollars.
