St. Pete drinking fountain connected to reclaimed water

Last Update: 7/02 8:27 am
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- City of St. Petersburg workers discovered Wednesday that a reclaimed water line had been hooked up to a public drinking fountain.

The fountain is at the Lakewood Terrace Park, 715 38th Avenue South in St. Petersburg.

Officials with the city say that the line was immediately shut off and the fountain was disconnected. They say that the reclaimed water line was connected to the fountain on Monday.

The city has reported it to the Department of Environmental Protection and is reviewing procedures so that the same mistake isn't made again.
