DOVER, FL -- A 55-year-old Hillsborough County man has been jailed following a shooting that authorities think happened after a squabble over soda.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office believes Larry Eugene Tullis shot his roommate in the chest with a handgun Friday after an argument over a can of Coca-Cola.

According to Hillsborough County online jail records, Tullis has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. A jail employee said bond hadn't been set yet and Tullis was scheduled to appear in court on Sunday morning. It is not clear if he already has an attorney.

The Tampa Tribune reports on its Web site that the shooting victim was in stable condition Friday.
