HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- George Lantz may consider himself lucky on the first normal work day of the new year. Lantz was working in a customer's backyard for Verizon when a rattlesnake bit him on the leg.
His co-workers called for help at 2:23pm Friday and he and the snake were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital according to Verizon spokesperson Sharon Shaffer. Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue responded and the sheriff's office helped out with traffic control at Mapledale and Northdale Boulevards.
At last report Lantz is good condition.
