Smoke alarm saves Tampa couple from house fire

TAMPA, FL --- Fire crews were dispatched to the 9000 block of Bramble Court at 2 a.m. Friday for a report of a fire that started in the home's garage.  Once on scene they discovered the fire had spread to the house.

The couple inside escaped the fire according to the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue because of the working smoke alarm.

No one was hurt.  The fire caused damage to the interior including the garage that housed several vehicles including a motorcycle.

Red Cross is helping the family to find a place to live.
