Jumping off the John Ringling Causeway bridge in Sarasota is illegal, but one man didn't let that get in the way of his attempt at stardom.

Joseph Porter jumped off the 65-foot-high bridge yesterday afternoon and was severely injured.

He was taken to the hospital with internal injuries.

Police say a 15-year-old boy who recorded the jump was arrested and charged with culpable negligence.

This isn't the first time someone has jumped off the bridge, which opened in August 2003.

Later that year, David Fraser tried what he told police was "a daredevil stunt." He was treated for minor injuries.
