LARGO, FL -- Dogs rescued from Tennessee arrived in Pinellas County Monday night and are being cared for by the SPCA.
A hoarding investigation in Cheatham County led to the confiscation of 57 dogs that were underfed and covered with fleas.
The SPCA says 24 of the dogs came to Pinellas County and will be placed up for adoption once they have regained strength and can handle being around people.
The dogs are purebreds and mixes.
SPCA Tampa Bay is open for other adoptions Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Weekend hours run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
