Man dies in burning van say Port Richey officers

PORT RICHEY, FL -- Police say a body was found inside a burning van Tuesday morning.

The discovery was made when officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire in a parking lot near the McDonald's and Walmart on Highway 19 and Ridge Road. 

The fire call came in just after 5 a.m.  Once on scene, investigators found the van on fire and a body inside.

The fire marshal was called to investigate. 

The victim is described as a white male.  His name has not been released. 

It's believed the victim was living in the 1985 Dodge van and that the the fire was accidental.
