LAKE ALFRED, FL -- Polk County Sheriff's deputies arrested three teens for armed robbery Monday after an investigation revealed they robbed a Pizza Hut delivery man in Lake Alfred.

Deputies say the victim delivered two pizzas to 570 East Grapefruit Lane in Lake Alfred on Sunday. He was met by a man standing in the street in front of the house claiming to have ordered the pizzas.

Deputies say the suspect then disputed part of the order with the victim, and said he needed to go back into the home to ask if anyone inside had ordered chicken wings.

As the first suspect walked away, two other suspects wearing black ski masks ran up to the victim and stole his wallet, cell phone and cash. One of the men also had a semi-automatic handgun.

The armed suspect punched the victim on the side of his head during the robbery. The first suspect stood a short distance away during the robbery, acting as a lookout.

On Monday detectives were contacted by a witness who reported seeing the entire incident and overhearing the three suspects planning the robbery.

Based on the witness' information, and working together with the Lake Alfred Police Department, detectives located and arrested the three teens, a 17-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old from Lake Alfred.

The juveniles were charged with armed robbery and battery with a deadly weapon.
