LAKELAND, FL -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect caught on camera stealing beer and cigarettes from a Circle K in Lakeland on Sunday.

According to a report, the suspect placed an 18 pack of Bug Light on the counter as if to check out, then asked the cashier for a carton of Newport cigarettes.  After the clerk put the cigarettes on the counter, the suspect requested individual packs.

When the clerk turned around, the man grabbed the beer and cigarettes and ran out of the store located at 6340 County Line Road.

The suspect is described as a man in his late 20's, wearing a white t-shirt, green or black shorts and had a muscular build. The clerk also told deputies the suspect had a stutter when speaking.

The suspect fled in a maroon and gray SUV, possibly a Saturn or Kia.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Detective James Carrier at 863-4999-2400 or Heartland Crime stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS.
