DAVENPORT, FL -- Two teachers at a Davenport school have been arrested on marijuana possession charges.
Detectives with the Polk Sheriff's Office say the investigation began when deputies found marijuana inside a student's jacket during a routine search at the Donald E. Woods Alternative School.
A tip led them to two of the school's teachers, 25-year-old Bradley Goldsmith and 26-year old Jessica Murray, who are roommates. Both admitted socially smoking pot at home, detectives said.
Murray's boyfriend, 26-year-old Jason West, was also arrested after he too admitted to smoking marijuana at their Loma Vista Court home.
Detectives found a marijuana, a bong, several glass pipes and other drug paraphernalia when they searched their house.
“It’s troubling when teachers who should be role models for our children are smoking marijuana, therefore setting a bad example, the criminal charges maybe minor but the loss of trust is great.” said Sheriff Grady Judd
