TAMPA, FL -- Police are investigating a hit and run death Wednesday night on Waters Avenue. 62-year-old Douglas Lott was crossing Waters Avenue from the Tennessee Tavern, returning to his vehicle on the other side of the street.
He was struck by a white SUV, possibly a Nissan Exterra with custom rims. Police say the impact knocked him back into another lane where it's believed he was hit a second time by a blue mini-van.
Both vehicles fled the scene. Lott was pronounced dead after paramedics arrived.
Police are asking for the public's help in finding the drivers of the two vehicles.
