Pinellas detention deputy arrested for doctor shopping

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL -- A Pinellas Detention Deputy has been arrested for doctor shopping while working at the jail.

Michael Broman was arrested at 11:30am on Tuesday while he was working at the jail in Clearwater.

Detectives say they received information in August 2009 that alleges Broman was involved with prescription medication activity that appeared to be suspicious.

The investigation showed that Broman was trying to get treatment from more than one doctor and trying to obtain hydrocone and oxycodone.

Detention Deputy Broman has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation.

Broman has been charged with doctor shopping, prescription fraud, and trafficking.
