Mindy McCready to appear on Celebrity Rehab with Mackenzie Phillips

Last Update: 10/20 11:15 am
Country singer and Southwest Florida native Mindy McCready will be part of a star-studded cast for the next season of "Celebrity Rehab." McCready will appear on the VH1 reality show along with Mackenzie Phillips, Heidi Fleiss, Tom Sizemore and Kari Ann Peniche, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Drug addiction rehab is nothing new for McCready, who has gone to several and admittedly battled the problem since the mid-90s when she recorded her only No. 1 hit “Guys Do It All the Time.”

Since then McCready has had her share of problems, including a couple of suicide attempts (the last in December of last year), a time in jail for violation of probation and an drunken altercation with a Lee County deputy in which she lost custody of her son. McCready also made headlines for being romantically linked to former New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens.

McCready, 33, told Entertainment Weekly that the three-week taping of the show saved her life and gave her new perspective.

“I thought I was the most messed-up person on the planet,” McCready told the magazine. “I’m not even close.”

Celebrity Rehab will be aired starting in January.
