ORANGE COUNTY, FL -- Two men have confessed to abducting and raping an 11-year-old girl a week ago, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Richard Morales-Marin, 24, and Juan Hernandez-Monzaldo, 25, admitted Wednesday night to abducting the girl while she was on her way to school. In addition to the confessions, investigators say they have DNA evidence.
The victim said the men pulled her into a dark colored sedan at knife point and then raped her inside an abandoned house on February 5.
Detectives say the girl provided solid descriptions of the two men. But, according to WFTV, the big break in the case came from Hernando Monzalvo's wife who tipped off investigators.
"The female who was at the house was fully cooperative in the investigation, she was disgusted at the events that took place to this child and wanted everyone at the house to give DNA," said Rich Mankewich of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
Mankewich said neither of the men, who are from Mexico, has a serious criminal record. He added that when they confessed, they said they had been drinking and were "stupid."
They're expected to make their first court appearance on Friday.
