Man with knife questioned by USF Police

TAMPA, FL -- A man has been released after being questioned by USF Police after he was spotted with a knife on campus.

An alert sent to students warned of a "white male subject seen in the Cooper Hall area in black tank top, cowboy hat carrying black puppy and a large hunting knife."

According to crews at the scene, the man was questioned by police and his knife was taken. The man, who goes by the first name "CJ", told ABC Action News Reporter Rebecca Medina that he was on campus waiting for his girlfriend to get out of class.

The campus has been given an "all clear" following this incident and an earlier incident involving a search for a gunman. On suspect was taken into custody.
