TAMPA, FL -- Detectives are looking for a suspect who shot a man near a gas station near I-4 and 50th Street early Wednesday morning

29-year-old Damion Ramsey was hit three times.  He's listed in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital.

Ramsey had just purchased cigars at a Shell station at 2924 50th Street around 3 a.m., according to police.  He was in his car talking on his cell phone with a friend when he saw a "shadow."

Moments later, someone fired three rounds into the passenger window.  Ramsey realized he had been shot and began to drive away.  The suspect then fired two more rounds at his Nissan Maxima.

Ramsey got out of his vehicle and tried to get help from the store clerk who would not unlock the door to the store.

Ramsey got back in his car and drove to a nearby SUNOCO station at 2602 50th Street when EMS was summoned.

Ramsey suffered wounds to his leg, chin and arm.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting, but do not know the motive at this time.
