HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- A man was murdered Wednesday night after he pulled into a gas station in north Tampa.

Detectives say the victim was shot by an unidentified man who walked up to the car around 8 p.m. at the Citgo station at Fletcher Avenue and 22nd Street.

The suspect got into the passenger's side and fired several shots while the victim was sitting on the driver's side.

The suspect took off on foot.  Deputies say the victim stumbled out of the car and collapsed outside of the building.  He died at a local hospital.

Detectives believe the shooting could be drug related after finding what they describe as a quantity of drugs inside the victim's car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-873-8477.
