Lakeland crash turns fatal

POLK COUNTY, FL -- Andrew T. Nguyen of Lakeland died after an early morning crash with a dump truck near U.S. Highway 98.

The dump truck driver from Tampa was not hurt.

Troopers say Nguyen was heading north on State Road 700 in the outside lane and failed to stop for the dump truck as it was stopped for a traffic light at County Road 540.

Nguyen's car hit the back of the truck. He died at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
