PENSACOLA, FL -- Early this morning, Pensacola Beach was on a first-name basis with Ida, the former hurricane turned tropical storm.  Ida wobbled into the front door of the Western Panhandle disorganized and weakened.

She was neither police nor pretty bringing winds up to 60 miles per hour that weren't strong enough to knock you over but you can still feel it according ABC Action News reporter Carson Chambers.

Heavy rain battered the beaches with up to 3-6 inches expected Tuesday morning.

Most of the streets along the beach front were clear of cars and people heading the warnings that blinked throughout the night warning of "Dangerous Conditions".

Still others wanted to ride out the storm like Johnathan Peebles from Georgia. "My wife's from Georgia and she's never seen a tropical storm or hurricane before and this one ain't gonna be so bad so I thought it'd be a good time to break her in", said Peebles.

Surf continues to swell bringing six to ten foot waves that slam the white beaches of Pensacola Beach.
