House leaders threaten to shut down Hard Rock

TAMPA, FL -- Florida House leaders say the Seminole Tribe is operating its casinos illegally and they want them all to shut down.

That includes the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa.

House Gambling Negotiator, Bill Galvano, says the tribe has not finalized an agreement to operate its blackjack tables and until they do, the tribe must close its doors.

If they refuse, House leaders may have federal forces step in and do it for them.

The Seminole Indian Tribe released a statement Wednesday that reads in part, "Since the federal approval of the tribe's 2007 compact has not been reversed by any judicial or administrative decision, the compact remains in effect as a matter of federal law."
