ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a transient man apparently concerned about his smell was caught stealing two deodorants from a St. Petersburg Walgreens.

Police say 51-year-old Stewart Haven Brown was charged Wednesday with retail theft. Employees told police Brown had tucked the items under his shirt and attempted to leave the store when loss prevention officers detained him.

The deodorants were valued at $8.64. Brown was being held on $2,500 bail for the theft charge, plus $1,013 for failing to appear in court on a DUI charge.
