Hillsborough to ramp up swine flu shots

TAMPA, FL -- Hillsborough County plans to triple the number of swine flu shots administered to students next week, a school district spokesman said.

The Hillsborough County Health Department has been administering vaccines in about eight schools per week over the past month. beginning next week health officials expect to visit 26 to 20 schools per week, spokesman Steve Hegarty said.

Health department spokesman Steve Huard told ABC Action News.com the county has enough supply to "ramp up" the number of schools it visits. They have not had trouble getting the vaccine lately.

Hegarty said the district expects to make the vaccine available to every student by winter break which begins December 19th.
