SARASOTA, FL --The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will conduct a review on a Sarasota Police Department's case.

The City Manager Robert Bartolotta has requested the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to conduct a review into the recent handling of a criminal case involving the Sarasota Police Department. The City Manager traveled to Tampa Wednesday afternoon and finalized the scope of the administrative investigation.

The review will concentrate on Sarasota Police Department's recent handling of a case in which an officer assigned to conduct a criminal investigation was also involved with negotiating a financial settlement for the same case.
