PLANT CITY, FL -- An 11-year-old girl was transported to Tampa General Hospital after being bitten by snake Monday afternoon.

The girl, a 5th grader at Springhead Elementary School, was bitten during a fire drill.

The snake turned out to be a garden snake, and the girl is returning to school.
