Fireworks might be cause of St Petersburg house fire

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Fireworks may be have been the cause of a fire that damaged a St. Petersburg home, according to officials.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 3235 Queen Street North and found smoke and fire showing from the wood frame house.

Crews found the fire in the attic and quickly put it out within 20 minutes.

Preliminary investigation suggests the fire may have been started by fireworks, according to St. Petersburg Fire/Rescue.

The fire did about $40,000 dollars in damage.

Two people were home at the time but no one was hurt.
