Fireworks may be cause of 60-acre brush fire at Oldsmar Park

OLDSMAR, FL --Deputies are investigating a 60-acre brush fire in Oldsmar Park. 

Pinellas County Deputies are following up on information from witnesses that indicates the brush fire may have been started as a result of youths setting off or playing with fireworks.

The fire occurred in Mobbly Park, in south Oldsmar around 4pm on Saturday. Area fire crews fought the fire and brought it under control before it reached any nearby homes.

According to Deputies, the fire may have consumed up to 60 acres. The fire reportedly burned within 200 yards of some homes north of the park, but no homes were damaged,no one was evacuated and there were no injuries.
