TAMPA, FL -- An electrical overload caused a fire at a Tampa sushi restaurant this morning, according to investigators.

Tampa Police officers first responded to the Sushi Bar restaurant at 602 North Dale Mabry Highway after a burglar alarm went off just before 8 am this morning. When they arrived they saw smoke coming from inside and called the fire department.

Firefighters broke into the restaurant and got the fire out before it spread to the entire building. A 2nd alarm was called before the fire was brought under control a half hour later.

The restaurant was not open and no one was hurt.

Investigators say the fire started in a wall between the front of the store and the kitchen, triggering the burglar alarm.

The fire did about $150,000 damage to the restaurant.
