TAMPA, FL -- The state of Florida is sponsoring a symposium to discuss issues related to Chinese drywall.
The Technical Symposium on Corrosive Imported Drywall will take place Thursday and Friday in Tampa.
Experts from the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others, plan to discuss research on the drywall and what could be done to fix problems.
Federal studies released last week couldn't definitively link the imported drywall to health problems or corrosion of pipes and wires that thousands of U.S. homeowners have been reporting for nearly a year. Studies are ongoing.
Most of the suspect Chinese wallboard came into the U.S. during the height of the housing boom when building materials were scarce.
