TOWN `N COUNTRY, FL -- The owner of a chain of doctors offices and three other people are facing federal drug charges Monday following a series of raids across the state.

Dr. Jeffrey Friedlander, Troy Wubbena, Carl Ehresman, and Sara Ehresman were indicted by a federal grand jury, in Tampa, for allegedly "conspiring to distribute and dispense Oxycodone, Morphine, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam, and 12 counts of dispensing controlled substances," according to a statement by the US Attorneys Office.

One agent explained the offices were prescribing opiate based drugs without doing proper physical examinations.

Three local branches of the Neurology & Pain Center Clinics were among those raided today, St. Petersburg, Lakeland and Town `N Country. Thousands of records were seized at each location.

At the Town 'N Country location, physicians assistant Troy Wubbena covered his head with a jacket to hide from reporters as he was led away in handcuffs. He declined to answer questions from ABC Action News.com.
