Just food for everyones brains. He is 12 years old, 12 year olds are unbelievably snoopy. Even the gun was out of reach, hidden way up high in a closet, if he was snooping around he could have found it. When you were his age, were you not snoopy? Dont assume that the parent left it where he could reach it. People need to stop blaming the parents for things like this. Sure, in some cases i'm sure it is because of the parents, but most of the times it is because the kid is being a kid and being snoopy and sticking his or her nose where it should not be. Think about the parents before you make those kinds of comments. They are misserable with worry right now.

They probably went to the school because it was the closest place where there was enough room to land the helicopter to air-lift the boy to Bayfront.
