Investigators collect evidence from what appears to be a homicide scene near Thonotosassa Road
THONOTOSASSA, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating what appears to be a homicide after a body was found late Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies say the body of an unidentified man was found with what appears to be upper body trauma in a wooded area near the intersection of Thonotosassa Road and Stanley Road.

Investigators say the man had no identification on him and will release the cause of death once it is determined by the the Medical Examiner. 

It is estimated that the body was in the wooded area for about 24 to 36 hours before it was discovered.

On Wednesday, deputies released a digitally enhanced photo of the victim and ask that anyone with information on this case to call the sheriff's office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
