Delivery truck flips in St. Petersburg

Last Update: 2/02/2009 5:20 pm
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- An APSCO delivery truck lost control while driving in the driving rain and flipped over near 22nd St in St. Petersburg today.

The truck lost control after the driver tapped the brakes and the load of washers and dryers the truck was carrying shifted according to driver Christopher Kalu.

"It's lucky that the truck landed where it did," stated District Chief Richard Johnson.  "The truck was hanging over the embankment and could have fallen to the road below," said Johnson.

The passenger of the truck was transported to Bayfront Medical Center. Kalu signed a medical release at the scene.
